Rome + Tivoli (13/07 - 16/07)
Took an overnight train from Venice to Rome... The guy on the train was super unfriendly and rude... lots of korean pple on the train... seems like the koreans like to travel by train...everytime we sit overnight train...it will be pack with koreans... but if sit budget airline...there will be lots of ang mohs....
The weather was sehr heiss.... super hot in german... it was the hottest in all the cities we travel to... While staying in Venice's hostel... one of the gal there gave us lots of advice abt rome when she heard we going to rome... thanks to her... we managed to cover the more impt sights instead of going to every single one...there's too much to see in Rome... so we ask her wat are the must-sees.... so she gave us a list and even help us with our itneriary... she went to rome to study for abt 4months... tt's how she know rome tt well...

Colosseum| Piazza del Campidoglio |Trevi fountain
Arc of Constantine | Roman Forum| Pantheon| Spanish Steps
Piazza Narona | unsure wat is it...| Roman Forum
Walk alot on the first day... saw lots of momuments... i love trevi fountain the best... before goin i tot i was just a normal fountain with scruplture... but i was wrong... its the nicest and grandest fountain i have ever seen... sehr schon... legend has it tt throwing the first coin back facing the fountain will ensure ur return to rome... the second grants a wish...all of us threw two coins and made a wish.... The tomb of unknown soldier was another very unexpected sight...it was not part of our itneriary...but after leaving the Roman Forum to our next destination...we spotted this very grand building with grand steps.... was wondering wat it was until we saw the sign.... its a holy place... cannot anyhow sit on the steps etc... Another suay thing is the SPanish steps...its supposed to be filled with flowers...but due to renovation... all flowers were removed...=(
Second day was reserved for the Vatican City...

We climb 551 steps to reach the top of St Peter's Dome... almost died on the way up with the narrow steps and all.... but the view up there was splendid... learnt lots abt the Vatican City... but cost us lots.... managed to see a pic that i like a lot by Michealangelo... its the pic where god pass knowledge to man... its part of a murrel in Sistine Chapel ( dunnoe if i spelled it correctly a not) Saw the painting last judgement by him oso where pple speculated that he had a self portrait in... too bad we din managed to get a guided tour... if not we would have learned more... we din know tt the St Peter's Chapel would take tt long.... spend a whole day in Vatican City...
third day we travel out of rome to a small town called Tivoli where a roman king built his summer residence... Villa d'Este... It has 500 fountains in the Villa... its very beautiful... had a relaxing day there...

Spent the night at the airport...it wasn't as bad as we tot it would... in fact it turns out tt we had the most slp in this airport although its the most run down.... Oh ya... we met Chris a fellow exchange student in our hostel...such a coincidence...
